Soap Box

Long and sleepless nights, strep throat, tonsilitis, strep throat...again, everyone in the house gets a cold, Kohen get's an ear infection, Kohen goes on meds. for acid reflux, and now to top it all off, Kohen and I both have trush!!!! A week and a half later, I I figured something was wrong. I won't go into detail, but the pain is so severe, that the thought of no longer breast feeding crossed my mind. I'm off to the pharmacy to go get yet another prescription. I want to cry, I want to scream. Longest 10 weeks of my life. It's a good thing I love the little guy. Now I will get off my soap box.

Get back on the soap box! You have every reason possible to be complaining! I guess I will be thankful that I haven't gotten ALL THAT, and I wished I lived closer so I could help out! But then we would probably all get sick too, so I'm glad I live far away!

I hope things get better, I feel like not breastfeeding just because I feel like a cow and like all I do is sit on the couch feeding Kamden. Good thing the other 2 can fend for themselves!!

Oh my sweet April, I want to cry for you! I am so sorry that you have had health issues ever since Kohen was born. I hope the meds work really fast and that things will calm down. Wish I was there to help. Please let me know how you feel in a couple of days so I don't worry and wonder how you are. Love Mom

I had those same problems with both of my kids. Thrush is the absolute worst. It hurts really really bad. I got mastitis twice with Rohne, and 3 times with Tay, and it hurts almost as bad. The bad thing with thrush is that you are treating yourself, and the baby. And, the cream is yucky, and your pad sticks to it, and. . . Oh, I feel your pain. I'm just hoping that this next baby is worry free. But, it probably won't happen that way.

Hey April! There's an oral medicine that they give to the baby, and they should have given you a cream that you use, that is not harmful for the baby to taste, and swallow. I had to ask for the cream, it's not something they just give routinely, I don't think. It helps with the pain, a little. It may sound gross, but the fastest way to get rid of it, when I had it, was after you get done nursing, don't put your bra, or anything on. Just wear a loose T-Shirt, and let it dry out. It hurts worse if you are covered up all the time. I know that's hard to do with 2 other kids running around, and errands, and everything, but it helps. The constant moisture is what causes it in the first place. So. . . I would ask for the cream for you. It seemed to help me. You might be able to get it over the counter now, I'm not sure. Good luck! I had it with both of my kids, (twice with Tay) and it is the worst! If you're thinking of just pumping for a little while, it may lessen the pain a little, but not so much. It didn't seem a lot worse when I kept breastfeeding, but the nurse told me pumping wouldn't be as bad.
